Blussh "July"

The band returns with the sunny bummer "July".

Blushh is the project of LA-based songwriter Shab Ferdowsi. Since forming in 2016, they've put out two EPs full of fuzzy, indie-rock gems that quickly struck a chord. The songs have led them to festival stages including SXSW and Treefort, and put them on bills next to The Joy Formidable, Toro Y Moi, Dude York and more.

The band is now gearing up for the release of their first full-length album and return with the addictive new single "July". The juxtaposition of Shab's woeful lyrics over the bright, guitar driven track paints a perfect picture of that end-of-summer gut punch. The sun going down on your last chance to make something happen with that special someone. But hey, everything will be okay.

On the single, Shab explains:

“You know when you have so much you want to say but hold yourself back until it’s too late? “July” comes from that uneasy, guttural feeling of regret and nostalgia when the last day of summer comes, you realize you’ve been gone too long, and the moment you were waiting for has passed. It's a cringing feeling disguised in a fun pop song. Hopefully you won’t wait as long as I did to say how you feel.”
